DHE115 Emergency Medicine 2 Credits

Introduction to recording and interpreting medical history. Additional topics include: recognition of signs and symptoms of medical emergencies, procedures and techniques introduced to prevent emergencies and management of emergency situations in the dental environment.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program.

DHE120 Pre-Clinical Dental Hygiene 6 Credits

Introduction to the dental hygiene profession and the process of care. Infection control, patient assessment, preventive treatment and dental hygiene instrumentation are practiced. Students are introduced to self assessment skills and quality improvement.

Prerequisites: Admission to the Dental Hygiene Program or permission of Instructor.
